On COTREX, you can easily view trails by allowed uses on the map, browse through featured routes, download offline maps for a seamless experience even without cell coverage, record trips and detailed field notes, complete challenges to earn badges, and share your experiences with the COTREX community.

The Colorado Trail Explorer is dedicated to mapping every trail in the state of Colorado as part of the Colorado the Beautiful Initiative. It connects people, trails, and technology by bringing together federal, state, county, and local agencies to create a comprehensive repository of public recreational trails.

COTREX is led by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and the Department of Natural Resources and is made possible through partnerships with organizations at every level statewide. It represents a seamless network of trails managed by over 230 land managers.
